Atishi officially allotted Civil Lines residence after politics over bungalow

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has been officially allotted the Civil Lines residence at 6, Flagstaff Road, an official notification by the Public Works Department (PWD) said on Friday.
“The Director of Allotment, PWD, is pleased to offer the undermentioned PWD General Pool Bungalow to Ms Atishi, Honourable Chief Minister, Government of NCT of Delhi”, an official order by the Deputy Secretary (Allotment), PWD said.
The letter further said that while the Chief Minister will have to submit acceptance of the bungalow within eight days of the issuing of the notification, Atishi will have to vacate the residence she is presently residing at within 15 days of taking possession of the official residence in Civil Lines.
“Since the said house is under investigation by CBI/other agencies for various violations, the allottee is advised to extend full cooperation in the investigation, as may be required”, said one of the conditions laid down by the civic agency while allotting the bungalow to Atishi.
The Civil Lines bungalow is under the scanner of probe agencies in an alleged corruption case as well as the alleged assault of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal.
The allotment order came after days of political blame-game between the ruling AAP and the BJP, with Chief Minister Atishi alleging that her luggage was thrown out of the Civil Lines bungalow on Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena’s order.
The party, led by Arvind Kejriwal, also claimed that the move was a part of the BJP’s plan to capture the Chief Minister’s official residence.
But while the AAP called the bungalow the Chief Minister’s official residence, sources in the Lieutenant Governor’s Office said that the bungalow in question is not the Chief Minister’s house and can be allotted to anyone.
“Atishi trespassed at 6, Flagstaff Road. The bungalow was never designated for her occupancy, despite her request to the Public Works Department (PWD),” sources from the Lieutenant Governor’s office told India Today TV. “If someone trespasses onto a property, the owner is entitled to take action.”
