Being a God Stalker means that the object of your affection rules your life. You want to be with Him. You want to be like Him. You want His attention. You will do whatever He says. And you will stop at nothing. In this series we will define what it truly means to be a disciple with scriptures that will become your new method of operation.
THE SIGNS | YOU KNOW YOU’RE A GOD STALKER IF…
“Test yourselves to make sure you are solid in the faith. Don’t drift along taking everything for granted. Give yourselves regular checkups. You need firsthand evidence, not mere hearsay, that Jesus Christ is in you. Test it out. If you fail the test, do something about it…We’re rooting for the truth to win out in you…” – 2 Corinthians 13: 5-8 The Message
1 YOU’RE HUNGRY.
You’re desperate to know Him, to serve Him, and to become like Him. Matthew 5: 6 The Message, “You’re blessed when you’ve worked up a good appetite for God. He’s food and drink in the best meal you’ll ever eat.”
2 YOU NEVER GRADUATE.
You’re a perpetual student. 2 Timothy 3: 16 The Message, “Every part of scripture is God-breathed and useful one way or another-showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, training us to live God’s way.”
3 YOU’RE DISCIPLINED.
A disciple is a learner with the intention of doing, a disciplined follower of Christ. “Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life…instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you.” – Matthew 28: 19-20
4 YOU’RE A CLEAN FREAK.
You focus on cleaning up your own life. “Investigate my life, O God, find out everything about me; cross-examine and test me, get a clear picture of what I’m about; see for yourself whether I’ve done anything wrong then guide me on the road to eternal life.” – Psalm 139: 23-24 The Message
5 YOU’RE A FAITH FOODIE.
You are obsessed with feeding on the Word of God. “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” – 2 Timothy 2: 15 New King James Version
6 YOU’RE A CONFIDENTIAL INFORMANT.
You are transparent, and you are trustworthy. “Make this your common practice: confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you can live together whole and healed.” – James 5: 16 The Message
7 YOU TALK TO YOURSELF.
You encourage yourself. “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” – Ephesians 5: 19-20 King James Version
8 YOU’RE A FAT BURNER.
You conserve your energy for getting rid of spiritual flabbiness in your own life. You don’t have time to for meddling in the affairs of others. “Don’t waste time arguing over foolish ideas and silly myths and legends. Spend your time and energy in the exercise of keeping spiritually fit.” – 1 Timothy 4: 7 Living Bible
9 YOU ARE THIRSTY.
You long for God’s attention. “God–you’re my God! I can’t get enough of you! I’ve worked up such hunger and thirst for God, traveling across dry and weary deserts. So here I am in the place of worship, eyes open, drinking in your strength and glory. In your generous love I am really living at last!.” – Psalm 63: 1-3 The Message
10 YOU ARE FOR GIVING.
You have a propensity toward giving with a generous spirit. “Everyone must make up his own mind as to how much he should give. Don’t force anyone to give more than he really wants to, for cheerful givers are the ones God prizes.” – 2 Corinthians 9: 7 Living Bible
11 YOU HIDE AND SEEK.
You are confident in God’s protection and committed to searching for Him. “Protect me as you would the pupil of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings as you hover over me.” – Psalm 17: 8 Living Bible “O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.” – Psalm 63: 1 New King James Version
12 YOU PRACTICE GOOD POSTURE.
You understand that the fastest way up is to get down. You humbly position yourself so that God can elevate you. You stay in a posture of prayer, praise, and worship. “…God gives strength to the humble but sets himself against the proud and haughty. So give yourselves humbly to God…” – James 4: 6-7 Living Bible
13 YOU ARE UNDER COVER.
You are submitted to authority–not because they deserve it because God commands it. “‘Honor your father and mother’ is the first commandment that has a promise attached to it, namely, ‘so you will live well and have a long life.'” – Ephesians 6: 2-3 The Message
14 YOU’RE AN ENDURANCE RUNNER.
You are running the particular race that God has set before you. “…Strip down, start running–and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in.” – Hebrews 12: 1 The Message
15 YOU’RE AN ACTION HERO.
You are not a hearer only, but a doer of the work. “Don’t fool yourself into thinking that you are a listener when you are anything but, letting the Word go in one ear and out the other. Act on what you hear!” – James 1: 22 The Message
16 YOU’RE THE WALKING DEAD.
You die daily. “…If anyone wants to be a follower of mine, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For anyone who keeps his life for himself shall lose it; and anyone who loses his life for me shall find it again.” – Matthew 16: 24-25
17 YOU’RE AN ATTENTIVE LOVER.
You love God, and you really love people. “If gave everything I have to poor people, and if I were burned alive for preaching the Gospel but didn’t love others, it would be of no value whatever.” – 1 Corinthians 13: 3 Living Bible
18 YOU ARE ATTRACTIVE.
You are beautiful, radiant and wise. “…I have become all things to all people so I could save some of them in any way possible. I do all this because of the Good News and so I can share in its blessings.” – 1 Corinthians 9: 22-23 New Century Version
19 YOU ARE IRRITATING.
Your persistence with God gets you what you need. “But let me tell you, even if he won’t get up because he’s a friend, if you stand your ground, knocking and waking all the neighbors, he’ll finally get up and get you whatever you need.” – Luke 11: 5-13 The Message
20 YOU HAVE A HEART CONDITION.
You have a heart of flesh that is tender toward God. “Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will reap a crop of my love; plow the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come and shower salvation upon you.” –Hosea 10: 12 Living Bible
21 YOU’RE IN BUSINESS.
You are about the Father’s business. “But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.” – James 1: 25 New King James Version
22 YOU’RE A GOD CONTAINER.
You treat your body as a sacred place. “Become the kind of container God can use to present any and every kind of gift to his guests for their blessing.” – 2 Timothy 2: 21 The Message
23 YOU HAVE RESPONSE ABILITY.
You meet every challenge with God’s ability. “…the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.” – Daniel 11: 32 New King James Version
24 YOU HAVE LOST YOUR MIND.
You have the mind of Christ. “….But, strange as it seems, we Christians actually do have within us a portion of the very thoughts and mind of Christ.” – 1 Corinthians 2: 16 Living Bible

Kim Whyatt is a committed minister in her home, her church and her community. She is a quiet storm that brings positive change wherever she goes.
