As For Me And My House

"For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,” Ephesians 3: 14-15 King James Version. Family is God’s idea. It is the foundation of every culture, including the kingdom of God. Our entire lives are marked by our experiences of family. In “As For Me & My House”, we will dive into the spiritual and practical lessons that the Bible teaches us about family–His plan, promises, and purpose. As For Me & My House, Week 1 We begin by taking a look at what the scriptures say about the family covenant. We explore the genealogy of Christ and what that means for you today. As For Me & My House, Week 2 God has a plan for family. In fact, it is his first priority. This is demonstrated when he created mankind in his image and commanded...

Victory Heirs

" If we are God’s children, that means we are His heirs along with the Anointed, set to inherit everything that is His. If we share His sufferings, we know that we will ultimately share in His glory," Romans 8: 17 The Voice. The word "victory" means an act of defeating an enemy or opponent in a battle, game, or other competition. You are in a battle for your life, but if you are a child of God, success is your destiny. Victory is your birthright. As a disciple of Christ, winning is in your DNA. You were adopted into the family of the King, elevating you to His level and entitling you to possession of His goods. A bloodline is defined as your heritage or ancestry. When you are in Christ, His blood draws a new royal line for you, no matter the circumstances of your natural birth. As an heir in God’s...

Tongues of Fire

The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell,” James 3: 6 New International Version. Positive confession, affirmations, and naming and claiming cannot override the power of the tongue. The Bible says that it has to be tamed because it’s small spark can set a forest on fire. It contains the power of life and death, and those who love using it will eat the fruit of their words. The scriptures say that death and life are in the power of the tongue, this week Kim Whyatt helps us understand the power of the choice that God has given us. Taming the tongue is a fight you can win with words–fighting words. You have the power to tame the tongue with the help...

Worship: The Secret Weapon

Worship is not the slow song that the choir sings. Worship is not the amount you place in the offering basket. Worship is not volunteering in children’s church. Yes, these may be acts or expressions of worship, but they do not define what true worship really is. Worship is to honor with extravagant love and extreme submission(Webster’s Dictionary,1828). True worship, in other words, is defined by the priority we place on who God is in our lives and where God is on our list of priorities. True worship is a matter of the heart expressed through a lifestyle of holiness. (Taken from Christianity Today.) Worship is the secret weapon against the enemies of God and man. The foundation for this series is laid with a definition of worship and descriptions of the Godhead's extravagant love as a foundation for a lifestyle of true worship. This study covers extreme submission: losing control by giving our lives to God's authority...

The Prayer Shift

Prayer is supernatural work that Paul tells us to do nonstop in 1 Thessalonians 5: 17, "Pray without ceasing." That requires a 24/7/365 commitment to supernatural communication that changes the natural. Envision a heavenly distribution system that transports our requests from earth to God in Heaven. This series will help you understand why we pray, how we pray, what to pray, when to pray, who we should pray for, and how to practically pray around the clock. Prayer is not a program, a transaction, or a religious exercise. Prayer is a way of life. Your shift starts now. The Prayer Shift Promo We begin The Prayer Shift series by making the case for praying nonstop. Learn about the spiritual work that every believer is called to–why we pray, how we pray, prayer in the Bible, and the types of prayer. We continue answering last week's Why Do We Pray question by going...

Finish-Line Living

There are so many distractions in your every day life. Their purpose is to divert your attention, to trip you up, and to keep you from getting to your eternal destination. Hebrews 12: 1-2 in the New King James Version says, “…let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…” The Finish-Line series will give you insight on how to run fueled by a vision of eternity. The foundation is laid for the entire series: the faith life requires commitment, you need training to run the race, discipline helps you stay the course, and vision is seeing the end from the beginning. God's eternal vision for the believer is kingship. We examine His mission and vision statements from scripture and ask, "What are you dominating?" We...

Love Notes

Jeremiah 31: 3 The Message, “God told them, ‘I’ve never quit loving you and never will. Expect love, love, and more love!” The King James says,“I have loved you with an everlasting love.” You look everywhere for love, but it’s impossible to find it without God. Since He is love, He is the only source of it. He is the only true example of it. He has gone to great lengths to help you understand how He feels about you. The “uni-verse” is one song playing over and over until you hear it. Ephesians 2: 10 says you are his “poem”. He has even left you love notes. It's easy to look for love in all the wrong places–especially if you don't understand God's love. We start the Love Notes Series learning about God's passionate love for us. This week, we examine our response to God's love and the command to love God with all of your heart, soul, and mind....
